Plumbers are at high risk for Mesothelioma

Plumber is the industry's most risky worker for deadly mesothelioma cancer . That's the findings of a recent industry insurance study conducted in the UK.
In a report prepared by Claims National , found that plumbers or plumbers, as well as electricians, building construction workers and auto mechanics, are much more likely to develop asbestos-related cancers than people working in other industries. This is a finding supported by CDC researchers in the United States who found the number of mesothelioma deaths among plumbers and predicted this incidence could continue to increase for 40 years.
Asbestos is an insulating material widely used in industries all over the world until the 1980s. This is especially true of pipe resistance to extreme temperatures and corrosion. Although it is no longer used in new construction - and has even been banned in more than 40 countries (though not in the US) - asbestos still exists around the water pipe, in pipe fittings and mill water filaments millions of old homes and commercial buildings. Plumbers cutting pipes, repairing or replacing pipes, can release toxic fibers that are the forerunner of mesothelioma , lung cancer, asbestosis and other diseases.
The UK insurance report warns plumbers and ex-plumbers, mesothelioma is a very dangerous disease because it tends to develop slowly, with symptoms that can mimic other conditions, the diagnosis of mesothelioma initially very unlikely to be discovered until the disease gradually develops in the future. According to the report " Symptoms of asbestosis often appear only 15 to 20 years after the initial exposure to asbestos. Symptoms begin gradually, and may become more noticeable for several years. Common symptoms are shortness of breath (initially after physical activity, but eventually with rest as well), coughing, wheezing, and chest pain. "
At the same time, the 'Daily Telegraph' in Britain reported the cost of a plumber who was diagnosed with mesothelioma in the hospital for about 175,000 pounds.
